Match report from Steve Leggett: TERRIERS KEEP UP WINNING WAYS! Not sure what it is with the Thursday night games, but for the second week in a row, the fluency from our Sunday games was missing when switching to Benfield on a Thursday. Think the pitches are smaller than the Welfare pitches which doesnt quite seem to suit as well. We played some good passes out wide but the ball would just over run or couldn’t quite control, while in the tackle generally were a bit hesitant. Similar seemed to lack confidence playing the ball forward. Delayed kick off and adding more new faces, also would effect the fluency. Now on to the positives, another clean sheet, so well done boys for your defensive work, special mention to Al who had to pull off a couple of excellent stops. Despite going close on so many occasions, boys kept going with Reuben making our pressure pay with a nice finish. A quick team run down – Al – Quiet day but when called up on was excellent. Layton – Some great cover tackling at times and showed composure on the ball. Lewis – lovely footwork and good clearances. Evan – Another top display, shone in midfield and in defence. Luke – some really good passes picking out a team mate. Reuben – Showed the most aggression on the night, along with some good passing and a goal, meant he just shaded the Man of Match. Cameron – Worked hard and showed good strength in the tackle. Dan – Lots of energy, some lovely balls out wide. Blake strong in the tackle, and caused problems when playing as the striker. Max – did excellent work in defence last quarter after going so close to scoring earlier in the game. Thanks to all the parents for getting the boys to the midweek games. Back to training on Saturday 10 to 11. Go Terriers!
