In tonights Sage Northumberland Senior Cup semi final, Bedlington Terriers fell to a 5-1 defeat against their hosts. Just before half time Bedilngton found themselves back in the game when top scorer Anthony Shandran crashed the ball beyond Jak Alnwick.

| Bedlington Terriers 2-1 Shildon |
|
On Saturday, Bedlington Terriers hosted Shildon AFC in the STL Northern League fixture at Welfare Park. The match saw the return of former Terriers players Ben Christensen and Wayne Gredziak and Richard Flynn who recently left to play his football for todays visitors. New signing Brett Gillatt was unavailable due to illness.
Shildon should have found themselves in the lead only for an unbelievable save from a point blank header, Pickering managing to get his body in the way to prevent what was expected to be a goal!
The home side took the lead after 30 minutes when a free kick by Tony Shandran was parried by Finch in the Shildon goal, the ball rebounded out and Steven Stewart was the first to react slotting the ball into the far corner.
Craig Hubbard nearly double the lead spotting an angle to shoot, chipping his shot from the left hand side which struck the post with the keeper nowhere near, the rebound was cleared.
Bedlington doubled their lead after 58 minutes, a super Shandran shot struck the crossbar with Finch again beaten, the ball fell to Hubbard who was about to finish into the empty net but he was taken down, a clear penalty. The chance fell to league top scorer Tony Shandran who stepped up and converted for his 27th league goal of the season.
Shildon pulled a goal back in the 71st minute when Nicholas Kane found space to slot the ball into the bottom corner.
Bedlington then proceeded to control the play, passing the ball around with confidence and keeping posession of the ball. The final whistle bringing an end to a superb team performance by the Terriers which showed great team spirit and commitment for the club.
